Meet the team

Alistair longs to return to Holland for a holiday, almost as much as he longs for a return to the blonde curly hair he had as a toddler. A fan of boxing and gangster films.

Daniel would choose Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to play him in a movie of his life, however, this manly image is somewhat shattered by the fact the first film he saw was High School Musical. Possibly our tallest member of staff it is no surprise that even as a toddler he managed to put his head through a ceiling, naturally his parents were very concerned….as ceilings are not cheap to repair!

Dan saw the funny side of pouring bleach all over the house as a toddler, his father less so. None the less the comedy remains to this day hence Dan seeing Seth Rogan playing him in a movie of his life. When not causing chaos in the house you will also find him in Los Alcazares, his favourite holiday spot.

Dan quickly discovered how much fun it was to mess around with his dad’s vinyl and hi-fi speakers – ripping the foam out no less (though to be fair were you even born in the late 80’s or early 90’s if you didn’t do this). If you need to distract Dan, just give him some headphones!

As a toddler it was rare anything would be left in his pram, car keys hidden or forever lost, and purses stripped of paper money ready to be quickly consumed. Luckily, David no longer plays fast and loose with people’s money.

Elaine’s first album purchase was the wonderful ABBA, along with their movie being the first film she watched with friends at the cinema. We’re sure Elaine learnt all she knew from ABBA, but mostly Money Money Money – except instead of Monaco, Elaine prefers Majorca.

As a toddler Ellie was always outside usually trying to find a pony to ride, her love of horses remains to this day. The first film she saw was A Bug’s Life which provided a handy preview to her favourite country Australia.

Freddie regularly smashed family home windows with golf balls as a child, he assures us his skills have since improved. His parents did get their own back though after he broke his arm on a waterslide and was rightly told to stop complaining and go to bed rather than go to hospital. When not on the fairway he likes to be in the Swiss Alps skiing.

Proving to be the right man for any job that requires justice and integrity – Gareth began this path of righteousness by serving up ‘rough justice’ to Skeletor, from He-Man, on a regular basis from his childhood garden.

Taking our Investment Bonds seriously, Hannah would choose classy Bond girl, Rosamund Pike to play her in the movie of her life. Hannah is also a fan of The Avengers film.

Heather would choose Helen Mirren to play her in the movie of her life, as part tribute to her grandmother ‘Minnie’, whom she reminds her of. Heather admires Mirren’s confidence and attitude to her appearance – who doesn’t!

Henry was clearly a very cool child, this can be seen from his first album choice (Gorillaz) and first film (Space Jam). This is where the coolness ends! Henry knocked two front teeth out as a child before his Auntie’s wedding and he would describe himself as gangly, just like Jim Carrey.

Self-described as a very smiley and happy child with a penchant for garish (some might say outlandish) outfits! Ivor’s first single was ‘Pipes of Peace by Paul McCartney’, which is lovely.

Jack would have Mike Myers play him in a movie due to the Austin Powers character….. however, the 1970s international man of mystery is a world away from young Jack who was terrified by ET. Away from films Jack is a big foody and likes nothing more than to be in Cornwall with his family.

As you can see from the childhood photo Jack is handy with a football, although not so handy that he didn’t destroy a few garden ornaments and the pass the blame on to his siblings. When not destroying garden gnomes, Jack would prefer to be found in Bali partly for the scenery but mostly for the food.

Proving to be good with inflation numbers, James remembers that his first album/single* purchase was 70p in the 70’s. James was also over the moon when Chelsea won the league for the first time in 50 years. *Heart of Glass by Blondie.

Even at the age of two he was on the phone doing a deal…..little has changed! Karel could very well have the answer to many of the world’s problems, recommending Monty Python’s Life of Brian as an essential viewing for life education and the banality of humanity.

Kelly is no wannabe at Canter Holland, there’s no wasting of her precious time either, which is why we always get our act together… *coughs*. To balance out her Spice Girls first music purchase, her fave film is the serious classic Shawshank Redemption.

Liva describes herself as clumsy (which is possibly why the stuffed bear in her childhood photo only survived a day). She likes to be found anywhere hot and as a music graduate Ibiza is her destination of choice. The first album she received was by Shakira….which makes us all feel old!

It makes sense for Lydia to be part of the financial services sector, after financing her own shoe obsession which started as a youngster – hoarding her mother’s shoes. Her favourite film is The Bodyguard.

When reading this play the music ‘eye of the tiger’ in your head. Shortly before his picture was taken Mark had been ‘working’ on his dad’s car and managed to take on his expletive and swaggered up the garden path saying ‘bollops’. The baller.

Mark would have Rodger Moore playing him in a movie of his life, because his wife thinks he’s suave, sophisticated and a bit of a silver fox. We’ve not had that verified though. Mark also faced corporal punishment as a kid – after leaving the class to early. He never forgets the time now!

Having survived his childhood, Matthew then went on to support the hugely well-known football team of Kakamega Homeboyz F.C. Clearly Matthew is a person with exceptional knowledge and wisdom to impart.

Though we all agree that Michael is great with numbers, we’re less sure on his unorthodox training; outsmarting local shop keepers and counting the coins out better than them. We have it on good authority that Michael will give the change back.

Nick was not a fussy eater as a child similar to the dinosaurs in the first film he ever saw, Jurassic Park. These days he is a fan of rock music and an avid Aston Villa supporter, to balance the misery of his choice of football team he also enjoys esports.

Always independent from the moment she packed her bag and walked out of pre-school in search of an adventure. These days Patricia would prefer that adventure to be to Ibiza as long as she can watch Shrek on the flight. A regular wonder woman but could Gal Gadot do justice to her dance moves in a movie of her life?!

Playing by his dad’s motto of ‘a mucky child shows they’ve had fun’, Philip plays and works hard, reflected in his choice of who would play him in a movie. Quote: ‘Chuck Norris because he can get kicked in the head and still go to work … Steven Seagal would work too on that premise’.

Just like we’re in it for the long haul – when it comes to your financial life, Peter enjoys a long-haul trip to Las Vegas. We’re sorry we can’t get Ricky Gervais to write the jokes, but hopefully he’ll agree to star in a comedy movie about Peter’s life.

Richard might liken himself to a bit of a Will Ferrell, with a talent to rival Mike Bassett – England Manager. We think he’s just using this to mask his real-life Bond aspirations. Richard’s favourite destination is Zimbabwe.

Proving that she is willing to throw herself into a task, Rebecca once split her yellow dungarees doing the twist – who hasn’t! Known for its dramatic landscape, Rebecca’s favourite destination is Nicaragua.

Keeping up with regular swimmer and former marathon runner Rebekah, is difficult! As calm as the water she swims in, when not in the office she can be found planning road trips across America.

Rhiannon loves the movie Clueless and to be honest we’re clueless why so many of our employees would have Reece Witherspoon in Legally Blonde play them – but we hope Reece is ready for the phone call.

Sam spent much of her childhood around horses and attempting to clean out stables often resulting in her being covered in horse muck due to wheelbarrow failures! A world away from the Disney princesses she watched at the time. Her favourite country is China, a place she’d happily visit of only to avoid having to watch Manchester united.

Sam sees himself as a bit of a Rowan Atkinson, the perfect balance of sarcasm and serious. So, with that in mind we’ll leave you with Sam’s final thoughts: ‘why join the navy, if you can be a pirate’.

Unfortunately, Steve didn’t get to play off his roller-skate incident with as much aplomb as his favourite movie characters in Pulp Fiction. Instead he was left reeling from trying to get his laces undone before being caught skating in the house. We don’t think it ended well – a bit like his team Arsenal.

Having blossomed from his ‘Jabba the baby’ days, you can trust Tom to not sink your plans, having learnt everything he knows from his first film viewing of Titanic (the 1953 release – of course).

Tony is considered to be one of the greatest and most successful managers of all time. Wait…oh we meant to put his lookalike Pep Guardiola in that sentence. Tony is also a fan of the film Back to the Future.

Living life in the fast lane, Will went over the handlebars of that bike and many others, several times. Proving to be adaptable, Will likes to take on roles – like Leo Dicaprio, he’s good in many situations.

When not looking after her beautiful German Shepherd,  Yensan can often be found watching boxing….her colleagues hope never to find out if she has boxing skills of her own. Yensan also likes the odd romantic comedy, which is useful should Man Utd disappoint her at the weekend.
